Conference description and goals
This one-day conference will focus on care across the specialties of medical and
surgical cardiology, vascular medicine, and neurology. The 2013 conference will
address cutting-edge neurological, vascular, and cardiac care. Topics to be
highlighted are anticoagulant therapy, stem cell research, care innovations, and
resilience in the face of challenges. Participants, as healthcare providers, will learn
about the self-discipline required to take care of oneself.
The goals of the conference are to:
• Discuss new treatment strategies across the specialties of cardiac, neurological,
and vascular patient care.
• Present evidence-based strategies for care of stroke and vascular patients.
• Address latest technologies used to advance care of cardiac patients.
• Explore mindfulness, resilience, and overall wellness for healthcare providers.
Intended audience
The conference is designed for registered nurses, social workers, and all other healthcare professionals interested in the care of cardiac, neurological, and vascular patients.

This conference will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in the Siebens Building,
Mayo Clinic, 100 Second Avenue SW, Rochester, Minnesota.
