Description and goals
The 2013 LPN Clinical Practice Review is designed to share current developments on a variety of healthcare topics. This year’s conference focuses on care of patients with chronic illness complicated by co-morbidities. A case study will be presented that portrays a team approach to care of a complex patient and family. Innovative treatment for high incidence illnesses, such as dementia, Parkinson’s, and bladder cancer will be presented, along with challenges for addressing pain in these patients. Use of social media for healthcare delivery will be described. In response to the many changes in the healthcare environment, healthcare providers run the risk of feeling stressed and overcome with negativity. Participants will learn strategies to stay
energized and positive, personally and professionally.
The goals of the conference are to:
• Provide a team-based model for healthcare delivery.
• Address stress and strain in healthcare providers.
• Share innovations, such as use of social media, to deliver care.
This conference is designed for licensed practical nurses and other healthcare providers who work in a variety of settings and desire a clinical update.
