Conference description and goals

This one-day conference will focus on care across the specialties of medical and surgical cardiology, vascular medicine, and neurology.  The 2012 conference will address current national guidelines related to care of the adult patient.  Presentations will encompass thromboembolic issues, dietary considerations, quality at the end of life, and care of the stroke patient.

The goals of the conference are to:

  • Discuss new treatment strategies across the specialties of cardiac, neurological, and vascular patient care.
  • Present evidence-based guidelines for care of stroke and vascular patients.
  • Explore mindfulness, resilience, and overall wellness for healthcare providers.

Intended audience

The conference is designed for registered nurses, social workers, and all other healthcare professionals interested in the care of cardiac, neurological, and vascular patients.

Date and location

This conference will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in the Siebens Building, Mayo Clinic, 100 Second Avenue SW, Rochester, Minnesota.
