Conference description and goals

This one-day conference will focus on care across the specialties of medical and surgical cardiology, vascular medicine, and neurology.  Topics for the 2011 conference include care of patients from childhood through end of life.  Current national guidelines, innovative technology, early stroke treatment, wound care, and sleep apnea are among the many presentations.

One hour of advanced nursing practice pharmacotherapeutic continuing education is included.

The goals of the conference are to:
  • Discuss new treatment strategies across the specialties of cardiac, neurological, and vascular patient care.
  • Use research to provide evidence-based patient care.
  • Present the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s guidelines for care of heart and stroke patients across all age groups.
  • Provide health enhancement strategies for healthcare professionals.
Intended audience

The conference is designed for registered nurses, social workers, and all other healthcare professionals interested in the care of cardiac, neurological, and vascular patients.

Date and location

This conference will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in the Siebens Building, Mayo Clinic, 100 Second Avenue SW, Rochester, Minnesota.
